01

Problem

Too Good To Go helps reduce food waste by partnering up with food establishments to sell leftover food/food with a closer sell-by date at a discounted price, everyday.

But despite different categories, the app made it impossible to sort and filter them on the basis of ratings, and price.

02

The Feature

A new feature, Daily Reminder, was introduced to nudge users to buy food on certain days of the week — the intention was to help users save for food on those particular days.

How Might We

help Too Good To Go's users buy food for less and aid their budgeting needs?

04

The Competition

I looked at competitors like Misfits Market Imperfect Foods that rescue and resell food and produce that doesn’t meet the aesthetic standards of supermarkets, directly to the consumer.

Hits:

  1. Designated delivery day
  2. Price estimates on a monthly/yearly basis are provided
  3. Produce preference

Misses:

  1. No Daily Reminder to save
  2. No actual budget-setting function
05

Opportunity

I saw an opportunity to optimise the Daily Reminder feature by adding:

  1. A budget setting tool; and
  2. A sort and filter function that would help users maximise efforts to save on food as per their preferences in food and establishments.
06

The Prototype

Based on the analysis, I created a prototype:

Next Steps

This prototype would have to have more functionality to operate as a budgeting and food-saving app simultaneously.
